소개:
도쿄가 2020년 올림픽 개최지로 선정되면서, 올림픽에 대한 관심이 높아지고있습니다. 또 한국에서는 2018년 평창 동계 올림픽을 앞두고 현재 한국에서 가장 오래된 원시림을 가진 ‘가리왕산’에 5만여 그루의 나무를 베고 산허리를 잘라 스키장을 만들려고 하고 있습니다.
올림픽은 단지 스포츠 행사가 아니며, 히틀러가 올림픽을 국가 경쟁의 구도로 바꾼 것, 많은 개발 도상국에서 경제 부흥의 도구로 쓰며 많은 개발을 함께 해온 것도 사실입니다. 1988년 김동원 감독의 상계동 올림픽은 한국 다큐멘터리를 가능하게 한 작품이라고도 불립니다. 1988년 올림픽을 위해 많은 사람들이 쫓겨났습니다.
리슨투더시티는 도시영화제를 통해 그 간 상계동올림픽을 몇 번 상영해왔으나 이제 평창올림픽 때문에 그리고 도쿄올림픽때문에 다른 맥락에서 영화를 볼 수 있을 것 같습니다.
스크리닝 이후 미사코 이치무라씨와 함께 도쿄 올림픽 반대운동을 함께 공유하며, 올림픽이 무엇인지 그리고 올림픽으로 한국과 일본이 겪은 것은 무엇인지, 앞으로 무엇을 겪게 될지를 함께 생각하는 시간을 가졌으면 좋겠습니다.

Description:
Since Tokyo was selected for 2020 Olympics many people started interested in what is going happen to Tokyo. Also in S.Korea, 2018 winter olympic will be held in Pyeongchang City, which is going to cut 50,000 of huge trees of MT.Gariwang, the mountain has the oldest forest of S.Korea. Olympics isn’t just about sports, it was birth with nationalism at Nazi area, a lot of countries used olympics excuse for gentrification. Director Kim Dongwon’s Sanggyedong Olympic is famous film and changed the history of Korean documentary history.Listen to the City has been screening this film thurough ‘urban film festival’ several times, but after Tokyo , Peoychang won for the bid the context changed now I guess.
After the screening Misako Ichimura will share our activities and art on urbanism, especially on the city and the Tokyo homeless evictions and the Olympics. I hope you can share you thought on Olympics and the cities.
